Kelsey Keane

Landing a teaching assistantship is a big deal for any student who plans to educate future generations to be great leaders. But winning a Fulbright Scholarship teaching assistantship is an even bigger deal, as Georgia Southern University Honors Program alumna Kelsey Keane (’14) can tell you. Keane was awarded the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship recently and will spend the 2014-2015 academic year teaching in Kosovo.

Uncommon Eagles

Each year, two graduate students are selected to receive the Averitt Award, which is the highest honor bestowed within the Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies. This year, Aaron Roberts of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences was honored for Excellence in Instruction. In addition, Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) student Cameron Cato was recognized for Excellence in Research.

Garrett Green (’12, ’14), Georgia Southern’s 2013-2014 Student Government Association (SGA) president, was honored by his peers in the University System of Georgia (USG) Student Advisory Council (SAC). They selected him as this year’s recipient of the Regent Willis J. Potts Student Advisory Council Leadership Award.
