About Georgia Southern University Photography
University photography is handled by the Multimedia Development Center, housed in the Division of External Affairs. It exists to produce high-quality photographic images for various print and online material. The work produced here reflects the spirit, excellence, diversity and quality of life at Georgia Southern University.
Photography services are provided to the University community for documentary, news, editorial, and event needs. While every effort is made to provide this service to the University community, the Media Development Center reserves the right to determine if a request is the best use of the photographer’s time based on the overall needs of the University.
Most photographs produced by the University photographer and contractors are available for marketing purposes and are maintained in an online database.
Mission and Prioritization
Top priority is placed on photographing events and activities that will support and enhance the mission of recruitment and retention as well as showcasing the important work and successes of the University’s faculty and staff.
The photographer generally does not provide photo coverage of banquets, awards presentations, and general departmental events unless the images can be used for marketing, recruitment, or media relations purposes. If we are unable to accommodate a shoot request, further assistance may be available. We will work with you to help find a solution to your coverage needs.
