Georgia Southern is more than a logo, more than an alumna’s success story, more than a video showing a scholarship recipient’s dream realized, more than a public/private partnership-funded building and more than providing an essential, workforce-building degree program. It’s a combination of all these things, and countless more individual and shared experiences of every stakeholder in the Georgia Southern University community — students, faculty, staff, donors, business partners, local leaders and elected officials.
In my role leading the areas crucial to cultivating the University’s public face, I take seriously the commitment we make to Georgia Southern’s history, current impact and future legacy.
Specifically, the Division of Advancement and External Affairs is comprised of the following areas:
- Economic Development, Government Relations and Community Engagement
Fosters connections to the programs, services and networks that support innovation and economic growth, both within and outside the University — and throughout the state and region — and advocates for the University at federal, state and local levels as well as advises and educates faculty, staff and students regarding University diplomatic protocol and special event policies. - Marketing and Communications
Manages all aspects of the University brand including marketing, media relations, publications, social media and advertising as well as providing planning services to promote outreach for individual departments and programs. Learn more >
